Voted best Provence wine two years in a row by Wine Enthusiast and Vinous, 946 is a fine wine that pays tribute to the majestic Sainte-Victoire and the cross of Provence that overlooks the scrublands, at 946 meters in altitude. A gastronomic rosé, with a barrel ageing, which will perfectly match with your diners with friends.
The creation of 946 rosé requires a precise winemaking based on a fine and delicate assembly of three bases of wine. – A wine from the heavier parts of the juice (lees) previously stored at low temperature (4°C), and then filtered. This base gives to the wine roundness in the mouth. – Another base comes from the alcoholic fermentation in half muid (500l) of new Austrian oak (Stockinger) which gives complexity. The last base comes from the fermentation between 14°C and 16°C in concrete tank to reveal aromas.
Appearance : Pale hue with delicate peach glimmers.
Nose : Complex aromatic profile with rich notes of red berries and stewed citrus fruits such as pink pomelo. The depth and structure of the wine are accentuated by aromas of brioche and roasted almonds. A touch of coconut water lingers on the exceptionally fresh finish.
Palate : The palate is rich and silky smooth with swathes of Madagascar vanilla balanced out by notes of fresh and juicy red fruits. Remarkable structure and length with velvety smooth tannins.
Enjoy served with scallops in a passionfruit sauce or a roasted farm bred chicken with red peppers marinated in olive oil and Provencal herbs. Also pairs to perfection with strawberry based desserts such as the “Salto” from head pastry chef Philippe Segond.
