The 3 most beautiful beaches to visit in the Var !
Boulouris beach in Saint Raphaël
Soak up the sunshine of southern France on Boulouris beach which lies right in the middle of the red rock at the foothills of the Estérel mountain range. This beach is situated on Route de la Corniche and is easily accessible via a coastal pathway. It is close to the town center of Saint Raphaël although away from the hustle and bustle and sounds of traffic thanks to the red rocks of Estérel which shelter it. Boulouris is a large sand and shingle beach that promises a moment of peace and tranquility making it the perfect place to relax and unwind with your partner, family or friends.
On both sides of the beach there are small creeks to discover nestled in this red rock and they really are like nothing else in the world. There is also a relatively large natural swimming pool that can be accessed by adults and children alike. Around these creeks you will spot sandy beaches as well as pebbly ones. Enjoy swimming between the rocks with their crystal clear waters. The setting will simply take your breath away.
Boulouris beach is also an excellent spot for those who enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. Countless species of fish and plants await you as you explore the beauty beneath the waters. Don’t miss out on the chance to take a tour of the Île d’Or (Golden Island) to soak up the town’s rich heritage.
Escalet beach in Ramatuelle
The coastline that joins Cap Taillat with Cap Camarat offers a tempting selection of little beaches, creeks and coves with crystal clear waters such as Escalet beach. This is an unspoiled Mediterranean gem with its breathtaking beaches and wild creeks far off the beaten track. It is as close to paradise as you can possibly get! In order to access the beach you will need to walk along a winding pathway before making your way down some pretty steep stairs but it’s very much worth the effort when you get there!
This beach is 350 meters long with alternating white sand and pebbles. It is sheltered from the wind and partly in the shade making it the ideal choice for a family picnic! The smooth rocks reflect off the turquoise waters which are crystal clear and teeming with beautiful fish to admire. Don’t forget to take your snorkeling gear as there’s plenty of exploring to do beneath the surface as well!

Cap Taillat in Ramatuelle
Cap Taillat, also known as Cap Cartaya, lies just south of Saint-Tropez at the meeting point between the communes of Ramatuelle and Croix-Valmer. What makes it unique is that it is joined to the coastline by a sandy isthmus. Cap Taillat is one of Saint Tropez’s most outstanding natural beauties.
A peaceful and enjoyable 2.5 km walk awaits you before you make it down to the beach itself. The walk along the coastline is simply breathtaking as you make your way through the lush green surroundings and breathe in the scent of myrtle and rosemary as you go. And when you finally arrive at the beach… paradise awaits you! The crystal clear waters contrast with the color of the pale, fine sand. Wild, natural and oh so beautiful!
Cap Taillat promises quiet coves, sandy creeks and is without a doubt one of the most wild and natural beaches in Ramatuelle. Whether you perch yourself on a rock to admire the surroundings in peace, relax on the sandy beach or head off in search of a tiny little creek, you won’t be disappointed if you have a taste for adventure and natural beauty!
